May is National Bike Month and WalkBike Frankfort is ready to celebrate! We'll kick it off right with the second most exciting two minutes in sports-- that annual event known as the Pedal for the Posies. It's part of the Governor's Downtown Derby Celebration festivities on . Post time is TBD and will be announced soon by Downtown Frankfort, Inc. Stay tuned.
Funday Family rides are off and running. We call ourselves the "Slow Spokes"! These slow-paced rides are suitable for riders of all ages and skill levels and children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult. Meet at the Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe at. Routes will vary and the rides usually last about an hour.
, is Bike to School Day! If you'll like to coordinate a ride at your child's school, let us know and we'll help get the word out.
, Bike to Work Day! Once again, WalkBike Frankfort will treat bicycle commuters to a breakfast treat and coffee at participating downtown businesses such as Magee's Bakery and the Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe. More on that to come!
And beginning in May, WalkBike Frankfort will kick off a membership drive that will last from now until the end of 2014. We will draw a member's name, monthly, to receive a free gift! You don't have to be a supporting member to be eligible, but you do need to make sure you're officially signed up.
