Big Week for Walk/Bike Frankfort

posted Apr 16, 2013, 2:18 PM by Nathan Rome
It's an exciting week for Walk/Bike Frankfort!  Congratulations to Stuart Harrod and our partner, the FolkBike ReCyclery, on their Envision Frankfort award.  Their award presented last night by Envision Frankfort.

The City of Frankfort will present an introduction to the Greening America's Capitals project, which will focus on making the Second St. corridor more pedestrian and cyclist friendly.  To rsvp, please call Rebecca Hall or Maya DeRosa at 502-875-8500 or e-mail rhall@frankfort.ky.gov or mderosa@frankfort.ky.gov.  The meeting will be at 6:30 Tuesday at the Paul Sawyier Public Library.   An open house will also be held at the library on Thursday from 12:30 to 2:00.

And this weekend Walk/Bike's Stuart Harrod and Donna Hecker are off to take the LCI (League Certified Instructor) course taught by the League of American Bicyclists.  This is the second step on their way to offering children's and adult cycling safety classes in the Frankfort community.

Look for details soon on last week's statewide Kentucky Walk/Ped Conference, held in Frankfort at the Capital Plaza Hotel.  Several members of Walk/Bike Frankfort were in attendance and the ReCyclery hosted a seminar on community bike shops.
